In
August 1997, Mr. & Mrs. KARASUYAMA established the orphanage in the
municipality of San Isidro, Davao Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines.
Under our policy "We want to express invisible
love through our visible actions", this establishment cares
children ages from 3 to 18 who are abandoned or neglected. We live together
in the establishment.
115 children had come to House of Joy since 1997, Now in 2008, 35 children
are living with us.
House of Joy is managed with the support by thousands of people all over the
world.

In 1981, One Japanese came to San Isidro as a JOCV (Japan Overseas Cooperation
Volunteers) Specialist of agriculture. After his term, he worked as a trading
company employee in Taiwan. The life in Taiwan was very rich. But he couldn't
forget the real situation in the Philippines, so he quit his job and went
back to San Isidro with his wife to open the orphanage in 1997. For more
